Abstract

The development of the Capital City of Republic of Indonesia (IKN) is not as successful as thought, various reactions of the public also color the process of the plan of transfer of IKN. This research focuses on the rejection petitions. The purpose of this research is to analyze the media distortions about the ICT refusal petitions on the announcements of Kompas.com and Detik.com, period 5-10 February 2022. The data was analyzed using a model analysis framing Pan and Kosicki models. After conducting an analysis of the two online media reports, it was concluded that Kompas.com and Detik.com did the construction of the content of the news using different framing. Kompas.com tends to frame President Jokowi's stubborn and indifferent personality, as well as use the viewpoint that attacked the Jokowi administration in connection with the emergence of the Petition Rejecting the Movement and Development of the Capital City, and is specifically associated with the second period of the Presidency of Jokowi. Detik.com framed President Jokowi's personality positively with the presence of a plan for the transfer of IKN in Indonesia's future interests. However, on the other hand, it also produced an announcement that also uses another angle of view to criticize the existence of an IKN movement plan that is associated with economic issues so that the plan for transferring IKN is seen as having no urgency
