This study aims to analyze interpersonal communication in the mentor–mentee relationship at Provisio Consulting, a tax consulting firm. It employs a qualitative approach. The main focus of this research is the application of DeVito’s five elements of interpersonal communication: openness, empathy, supportiveness, positiveness, and communication barrier management. Data were collected through interviews with three mentors and three mentees. The findings reveal that mentors tend to use a relaxed yet professional communication style, fostering open and supportive two-way communication. Mentees feel valued, able to express challenges without fear of judgment, and receive guidance that encourages independence and confidence, along with clear direction and motivation to grow. The mentors’ positive attitudes and empathy further enhance the mentees self-confidence. Communication barriers, such as differences in dialect and perception, are successfully managed through a personal and empathetic approach. This research concludes that effective interpersonal communication strengthens the adaptation process of new employees, increases productivity and fosters healthy workplace relationships. It recommends interpersonal communication training for mentors and the reinforcement of an open communication culture at Provisio Consulting to support the success of its mentoring program.
