This study aims to analyze the interpersonal communication patterns practiced by users of the dating application Bumble in Jakarta as they build relationships in digital spaces. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, using in-depth interviews with purposively selected informants. The research focuses on how users initiate, maintain, and emotionally develop conversations, as well as the strategies they use to overcome communication challenges. The findings indicate that users adopt various communication models. Linear, interactive, transactional, and circular. Depending on the dynamics of interaction and personal characteristics. This study also reveals several communication barriers, including physical, semantic, psychological, and sociocultural factors that affect communication effectiveness. The Social Penetration Theory serves as the conceptual framework to explain how relationships evolve through digital interaction. These findings contribute to the broader understanding of interpersonal communication in the digital age, particularly in how online dating platforms function as new spaces for social bonding and relational development.
