Analisis Penggunaan Aplikasi Bumble Pada Generasi Z Dalam Mencari Pasangan (Studi di Jakarta dan Bekasi)
Abstract
The rise of online dating applications has transformed how Generation Z builds personal relationships, particularly in major cities like Jakarta and Bekasi. This study aims to understand the experiences of Bumble users in seeking romantic partners. Using a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method, data were collected through in-depth interviews with five informants who are either active users or have previously used Bumble. Viewed through the lens of the Stimulus-Response Theory, the findings reveal that user behavior is shaped by specific stimuli from their environment or psychological conditions. The duration and frequency of app usage vary, influenced by emotional and social triggers such as loneliness, curiosity, boredom, or peer encouragement. The motivations for using Bumble extend beyond romantic intentions, including self-expression, social interaction, and personal reflection, especially when face-to-face encounters are limited. Informants also reported positive outcomes, such as increased self-confidence, improved communication skills, and a safe emotional space. This study concludes that Bumble plays a significant role in the social and emotional lives of Generation Z, shaped by their needs for connection, social acceptance, and personal growth.
